Communications and Media Engagement Officer

Communications and Media Officer

Ulalo is seeking a Communications and Media Officer to strengthen our storytelling, visibility, fundraising support, and community trust as we continue to grow our work across education, health ecosystems, thriving communities, and livelihoods.

Key Role Focus

The role is responsible for planning and delivering strategic communications; producing high-quality written and visual content; managing Ulalo’s digital platforms; supporting media engagement; and ensuring ethical, community-centred storytelling that reflects Ulalo’s values.

Location and reporting

Mzuzu, with frequent travel to project sites within the district and reports to the Programmes Manager.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Media Studies, or a related field

  • At least three (3) years’ experience in communications or media, preferably within an NGO or development context

  • Strong writing skills and experience managing digital and social media platforms

  • Basic skills in photography, visual content, and/or video production
